EOSC-Pillar at the EOSC Day hosted by CNRS in Paris

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is an initiative of the European Commission aimed at connecting existing European scientific data infrastructures, adding high capacity and performance cloud solutions to exploit them and to widen the scope of these services to users in the public sector and industry.

The EOSC must be seen in the broader context of open science, also aimed at making scientific data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and open.

This one-day event addressed several questions related to the place of EOSC within the CNRS, the French National Centre for Scientific Research, which is a part of our Consortium

  • What is the participation of the CNRS and its institutes in the EOSC today?
  • What can EOSC offer our scientific communities?
  • What are the opportunities and risks of CNRS involvement in the EOSC?
  • What are the next steps at CNRS level, at national and European level?

Our Technical Manager Yann Le Franc presented EOSC-Pillar in the afternoon session, addressing the future developments of EOSC. You can find the video of his full presentation (in French) at this link.
